A beautiful peach rose and dandelions are the first flowers I see in this gorgeous botanical and abstract mixed media collage. There is SO much to see in this fab maximalist mixed media collage!

Much gratitude was expressed while creating this detailed work with collage materials and scraps I had on hand. It is always humbling to take stock of what we DO have in our lives, and many times we realize it’s everything we need…
When starting this piece, I decided I am going to make something happy - that I would create joy - ONLY from the things within my immediate surroundings! A fun challenge! The bright colors in this piece move the viewer through a spectrum of positive feelings, and there are a plethora of images in this piece… All of which personally make me happy!
Pollinators, a myriad of beautiful flowers, including the aforementioned DANDELIONS (I just love them – and they are symbolic of overcoming adversity, hope, dreams, transformation, life-cycles, and childhood innocence).

There is a green tomato over the woman's eyes because I LOVE fried green tomatoes!
The number 9 also has a spiritual significance in the piece... that is a deep yearning to make the world a better place! (It is also the number of my art studio in Albuquerque!)

This is an original mixed media collage on 2 inch deep edged canvas. The sides are painted and several coats of a UV protective, archival quality gloss varnish have been applied to the surface and edges to enhance the details and for longevity.
